Well, I've spent some time working on this set. I think it's almost
ready for prime time. I'm rather happy with the way it's turned
out. I used Paint Shop Pro 6 for most of the graphics on the page
with the Eye Candy plug-in for its inner and outer bevels. The flowers
are ForgetMeNot tubes from DigArts' Jungle Bundle 2D CD.
The font for the welcome banner and the navbar at the left is Edwardian
Script ITC in a deep violet - #52037B. I'm not sure where I picked
up the Edwardian font but you can check a few shareware font libraries
for it.
The colors I've used for the webpage:
Text: #663399
Links: #6666FF
Visited: #990099
Active: #FFFFFF
I've been experimenting with some of the more advanced layout capabilities
in HTML in order to produce this set. The best place to learn about
full border backgrounds is from a tutorial on Ann-S-Thesia's
site. In order to use this set you'll have to have a good understanding
of HTML tables for layout purposes.
You'll also need to use an image map program to generate the html
code for the navigation bar at the left. Some of the WYSIWYG HTML
editors have this feature. Otherwise, there are programs available
that will walk you through this such as the shareware programs:
LiveImage available from MediaTek
or MapEdit from Boutell.
Or, you can learn how to write the code from the ImageMap
Help Page.
